New Worker
Radiation Dosimetry
- The Radiation Control Office (RCO) evaluates individuals working with radiation to determine if radiation monitoring is required. This determination is done when an individual submits the Radiation Worker Data Sheet & Training Record (RC-088) to the RCO.
- Radiation dosimetry for wet chemistry applications of radioactive materials may require a bioassay either in vitro or in vivo analysis. The RCO offers the following bioassays:
- Urine bioassay
- Thyroid bioassay
- There is a $25.00 fee assessed when dosimeters are late or missing according to the Unreturned Dosimeter Policy.
- Dosimeters are worn only at the facility or department the dosimeter was issued to. They are not to be worn at secondary locations of employment. Request a dosimeter for each place of employment.
Contact the Radiation Control Office at 626-6850 if you have any questions or concerns.
