Obtaining a New Instrument

Radiation detection instruments may be obtained from a variety of vendors. The RCO must be informed about every new purchase or a new aquisition.

• Contact the Radiation Control Office when you receive the new survey instrument.
  • The RCO will enter the instrument into our database.
  • Calibrate the instrument if it is not already calibrated by the manufacturer or vendor.
  • Affix a check source if necessary so you can check to see if it is working properly.
